April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 in 1995) began her musical journey at the age of 7 when she took guitar and piano classes. When April was 12, she composed her first single, Different. At 14 years old, April was spending a lot of time writing lyrics and perfecting her music skills. She began writing alongside her father in NY and LA shortly after. April also added additional themes to the track "Take My Hand" for some of friends who dealt with concerns like peer pressure problems, as well as teenager suicide. Lockhart works in partnerships at popular cosmetics brand Ilia and also is a lifestyle influencer who has a growing fan base. As a woman born with no left hand, the woman is an important part of her. But it's not the only thing she has to tell. The profile of Lockhart on Instagram does not cover up her disability, but it does not just focus on her disability. What's the message? We are all more than the physical person we are. The identities we have are complex and include a myriad of elements. Lockhart speaks via video in Nashville. "I do not want it to define my life. I'm not looking to be merely recognized as an expert in disabilities. It doesn't impact my day-to-day life I do things normally, and I've discovered my own way to adjust things. However, I also consider that it is a crucial component of my life. The journey of self-acceptance that Lockhart has taken is one that can last a lifetime, but she can be a role model for this purpose. However, she admits to going through periods of feeling uneasy about her appearance and wearing clothing with arms. She wears whatever she wants and proudly posts pictures of herself wearing the clothes she picks out on social media. To her, self-love was a long trip. It's a fact that I see for everyone, whatever they are struggling with. I think it is important to be surrounded by individuals who truly understand you.
